In this article, we are interested in the operation of nominalization in a specialized corpus. Thus, it presents a comparative analysis, based on a corpus represented by travel guides in Romanian and French. In the literature, nominalization is considered a common phenomenon in specialized languages. It is generally known that the complexity of the scientific language resides mainly in its specific terminology and nominalization. A typical feature of the scientific discourse is the use of nominalisation, where processes and properties are metaphorically reconstrued as nouns. Moreover, nominalisations are very important in the creation of technical and specialised vocabulary, enabling an informationally dense discourse. For this reason, nominalisation was chosen as a proper linguistic feature for characterizing travel guides.
